Do you want a fresh start? A clean slate? What if I told you… Anyone can have a fresh start in Christ Jesus! No matter what you've done, no matter where you've been, no matter how far you have fallen, you can come back again!
II Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Romans 8:1 provides great hope when it confirms there is “no condemnation” in Christ Jesus. You can have a new life.
Galatians 5:24-26 says, "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their own sinful selves. They have given up their old selfish feelings and the evil things they wanted to do. We get our new life from the Spirit, so we should follow the Spirit. We must not be proud or make trouble with each other or be jealous of each other." (NCV)
Why bear the fruit of the Spirit of God? Think about it… Because we belong to Christ. We made a decision to be crucified with Christ. The old is gone and the new is here to stay.
Remember Acts 2:38 and Romans 6? When we go down into the water, we are crucified, we are buried, and we rise up again to the glory of God! At that moment we must choose to give up our old selfish ways. We surrender the evil lifestyle we used to live and give up the evil things we liked to do.
Our new life in the Holy Spirit should be kept clean. We may not be perfect, but we are walking in the footsteps of our Savior, led by His Word, filled with His Spirit, and we are following His will.
I want to encourage you… Come to Jesus and start over. His grace is limitless. His salvation is permanent. Claim your fresh start and new life.
